Piece by Piece and other recent works by Tacha Reed
|
Visual Arts, Maker Culture |
7778 Highway 14,
The Bread Gallery, Brooklyn,
Nova Scotia |
Description
Join us for a preview of Tacha Reed's exhibit of recent works. Throughout the afternoon Tacha will create a piece from scratch, demonstrating her unique felting process. Over the last year Tacha has drastically altered her felting process to incorporate a wet felting stage, allowing for a more free and less inhibiting form of expression. Her most recent works are a response to the abandoned turbine that sits on the floor of the Minas Basin. This series of death portraits of the local aquatic species are beautiful and haunting; a reminder that we are responsible for the well being of not only ourselves but the earth, air, water and all life that surrounds us.
